Bichon and cats

Does anyone know how to stop my Bichon chasing my cats? We've only had her two and a half weeks so its early days. She barks at them and chases them, wanting to play and I don't know how to stop it. Sometimes she'll sit for a treat if she's not too excited but this doesn't always work. Sometimes the barking at them just doesn't stop so we take her out of the room that the cats are in. At the start we tried to introduce them gradually, using a stairgate half way through the house so that they could see and smell each other without getting too close. After a few days we put the cats in the same room with Misty in her cage for half an hour a couple of times a day. This didn't seem to bother any of them but as soon as she is able, Misty just chases them.

Bichon and Cats

Your cats will soon know Misty just wants to play. Soon you will have so much fun watching them play tag and hide and seek together as mine do. Be patient and do not scold Misty - the cats and her will work it out for themselves resulting in lots of fun for all.
