Toilet training
It is with great pleasure that i have become a user on your site . I am a new owner of a bichon and I rescued her on the 21 july this year she had serveral problems and i have cured most of them except one she was never taught to go to toilet out side i take her out every 3 hours. it is when i go out, i try not to leave her for more than 3 hours and if i do my friend comes round to take her for a walk,if she does have an accident i do not tell her off but i do roll the rugs up as this was her place to go, so far it has been succesful but can you surgest any other way of dealing with this problem

hi, we used newspapers. we put them down in the place she thinks is her loilet area then each time she went on them we moved them closer to the backdoor. after a short while she got the idea. we used the same word each time she went on the paper telling her she was a good girl for having a "wee" when we got her to be going for a "wee" near the back door we opened the back door and told her to go for a wee outside. she eventually got this and now when she wants to go outside to the loo she barks at the backdoor. hope this helps
